Le travail fourni est dantesque. J’ai eu la chance de parcourir les allées vides et j’ai été époustouflé. Nathan Sawaya, maîtrise l’univers DC et les legos. C’est un vrai travail de passionée, certaines pièces comptent jusqu’à 450 000 pièces. Ce n’est pas le nombre de pièces qui m’a époustouflé, c’est la vision artistique qu’il a. C’est parfois très fort, parfois drôle, c’est assurément intéressant. L’exposition comporte aussi une multitude de projections pour expliquer à la fois l’univers de DC et l’univers de l’artiste, un endroit interactif pour les plus petits est prévu à la fin de l’expo mais ne vous trompez pas, vous aussi vous allez aimer cet expo ! If you’re a fan of the humble plastic LEGO brick and a fan of superheroes it’s time for you to rejoice as the ultimate exhibition is here for you. From today March 1st at London’s Southbank Centre the mini brick is made mighty in Art Of The Brick DC Superheroes. Nearly two million of those perfect plastic pieces have been used to recreate sculptures of DC Comics superheroes and villains such as Batman, Superman, The Joker and Wonder Woman. The works have been lovingly created by New York-based LEGO artist there really is such a thing Nathan Sawaya. The show takes advantage of 80 years of rich history for the brand and features more than 120 original pieces all created from the iconic bricks. This art collection is based on the elements of the journey of a super hero, including the moment in which we are all called to the adventure. As a kid I spent Saturday mornings sitting on the floor playing with LEGO and watching the DC Super Friends cartoons. I would imagine the people in my LEGO city would have super powers and could defeat any evil nemesis – which usually meant my sister’s dolls. The thought of putting hundreds of thousands of pieces together to build a moody looking Batman gives us shivers. Elle nous plonge tout de suite dans l’ambiance DC. Statues grandeur nature, des scènes reconstituées, des tableaux, des pages de comics, on ne sait plus où regarder. Bien sûr tout est en Lego. Les sculptures sont tellement puissantes et bien réalisées que l’on a d’ailleurs tendance à oublier que toutes ces œuvres sont faites de briquettes en plastique. D’ailleurs, on en ramènerait bien quelques-unes chez soi. Monsieur Lego vous ne pourriez pas faire des boites adaptées de l’expo ? Il y a 11 séquences qui mettent en lumière toute la complexité de l’univers des super-héros. On ne va pas toutes vous les décrire pour laisser un peu de mystère. Le Joker nous accueille dès l’entrée. Il fait une petite pause avant de retourner torturer Batman. On enchaîne ensuite par une salle qui rassemble les figures marquantes de ce vaste monde. C’est une sorte de Panthéon. Ils sont tous là Batman, Superman, Batgirl, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, etc. Il y a même la couverture de l’Action Comics numéro 1 où est apparu pour la première fois Superman. Tous les murs sont recouverts de pages de comics. On en prend déjà plein les yeux mais la mise en scène monte crescendo. Cliquez pour agrandir les photos DC Super Héros – une expo avec des super-pouvoirs Plus on avance dans l’expo plus les sculptures sont de plus en plus grandes et impressionnantes. Elles sont toutes replacées dans leur contexte. On avance et on découvre une salle entièrement réservée à Superman puis une autre à Wonder Woman. Cette dernière vous invite à découvrir Themyscira, sa terre natale. On a adoré la reconstitution de son avion invisible en Lego il fallait oser et surtout son déguisement en Diana Prince. Impossible d’évoquer des super-héros sans parler de Super-vilains. Rassurez-vous, ils ont aussi leur place dans l’exposition. Cette salle montre la dualité avec les Super-héros. Batman à l’honneur Le parcours se termine en apothéose avec deux salles consacrées à Batman. La première est une reconstitution de Gotham City avec des décors animés et Batman qui veille sur la ville. voir notre vidéo ci-dessous Entre deux gargouilles, vous découvrez ensuite un passage et vous pénétrez dans la Bat Cave. Une surprise de taille vous attend. Elle mesure 5,5 mètres et elle est composée de 500 000 briques. La dernière salle est réservée aux enfants avec des piscines remplies de Lego. Petit ou grand, on a qu’une seule envie plonger les mains dedans pour faire des constructions en Lego.
